My work with the brand

I had worked alongside Alice Bell since the creation of STALK in April of 2014 until 2021. Originally the brand began as a platform where Alice and I could showcase fashion-related, creative content, and later grew into a modern eCommerce and platform to learn about how Astrology affects you.

Since the brand’s establishment, I was in charge of the creation and maintenance of the eCommerce website, and created multimedia content, including, photography, graphic design, videography and editing, all of which were developed for cross platform use.

While I was with the brand, I worked closely to ensure active follower engagement through entertaining content, and seamless online user experience. it organically grew to over 13.5k followers on instagram, attracting US and internationally based clients, and drew eyes from big publications like US and British Vogue.

The overall branding and creative direction I took for STALK’s design was a refined modern take on the retro, somewhat psychedelic graphics of the 60s and 70s. I drew inspiration from old advertisements and astrology books of those time periods and incorporated that feeling I found from them into the new aesthetic. I found that the loud patterns and bright colors effectively captured the new direction that the brand was heading in.

When I pitched the redesign for the brand, Alice loved that it fit her affinity for 60s era fashion and aesthetics. Previous iterations of the brand were influenced by clean, modern and minimalistic fashion blogs, and did not capture the essence of what STALK was becoming. With this new design, there was a bigger push for playful and creative astrology/lifestyle content. 

PHOTOGRAPHY • VIDEOGRAPHY

Photography was a very prominent component for STALK. Throughout the brand’s journey, I captured Alice’s personal style over the years, which became a core foundation to the brand’s design aesthetic. 

My photographic style for the brand was heavily inspired by street style photography, mostly shooting candid and candid-like posing always in a real-world setting. My photography has been featured on the brand’s instagram, as well as many other publications. Online articles include, Vogue.com, VogueWorld, Forbes, and River Island to name a few.

As social media shifted to feature more video content, the brand started slowly producing videos to be featured on Youtube and Instagram Reels. I shot and edited footage, helping to visually direct each video. Videos were a very positive response amongst followers.

Within each of the videos, I pay meticulous attention when shooting and editing to ensure pacing, fluidity, and creativity. In post, I do color corrections when needed, and create motion graphics and hand-drawn animations as a branded touch.
